Be Yourself, Completely

Hello,

We have so much to catch up on. So much astrology. Eclipses, new eras, great resets and major refreshes.

Doesn’t it feel like it’s all happening? The beginning and ending of everything at once. Chapters closing, doors opening, the unbelievable unfolding as we stand eyes wide open on the edge of our realities, taking it all in. Taking it personally and collectively.

That it’s all happening now is no surprise. Aquarius season is the time of divine disruption when serious winds of change blow in and what we know ~ or think we know ~ receives an upgrade. We become vessels for new intelligence. Fresh knowledge arrives and our orbits adjust, as they must. Especially with Pluto present, fully ensconced in Aquarius, our conscious awareness is shifting and altering, fundamentally, seismically, proportionally to what we’re able to take in and willing to change. That change mightn’t feel wanted or warranted but it is necessary, essential, vital even to respond to its call and see what we don’t want to see, acknowledge what’s broken, then come together in our own unique way ~ whatever way we can ~ to try to resolve it. For ourselves and humanity, for our growth and evolution.

This is the Aquarian ideal.

Our future depends on this transformation. Future generations are relying on our presence and participation, no matter how big or small our actions, how quietly or loudly we protest, how actively we respond to what frankly sometimes feels impossible.

Our future is here right now.

Stand Up For Change

A new era is unfolding and I really do have the highest hopes for it. Even if, as it emerges, it feels like time is compressing and the order of things collapsing. We too can collapse or we can rise as humanly ~ and humanely ~ confident as possible, committed to standing up for what we believe and creating great and truly effective change for ourselves and each other.

The confidence to carry this out comes from knowing yourself well. If you’re true to yourself ~ radically honest with yourself ~ you don’t need to engage in wholesale, rip it up, rebelling for the sake of rebelling change (fueled by mindless bravado and a zero sense of self).

You create meaningful change because you make values-based decisions you can hand-on-heart honestly stand behind.

When I turned 40 and Uranus (Aquarius’ modern ruler) was rocking my world, I started therapy because I didn’t feel grown up enough to make important personal decisions, let alone invite meaningful change into my life. I didn’t feel ready to step into a 40-year-old’s shoes.

My sense of self wasn’t very strong. How that happened is a whole other story but the reality is I’d lost my centre.

My ballast was missing. Astrologically, one place we could look to secure our stance is Saturn (Aquarius’ OG ruler before Uranus was discovered). Although by 40 I’d actually done plenty of serious adulting, perhaps because my Mum was sick and died during my Saturn Return, my progression to adulthood was disrupted. The baton hadn’t been officially passed and I needed help to embody and own my authority. I still wanted someone ~ a parentified figure ~ to be my internal security system and make change for me.

You Are So Aquarius

Aquarians are so good at maintaining their internal security systems. They do their thing. For themselves and humanity. Not selfishly. It’s just their way, and for good cause. They’re here to disrupt and shake things up. If that appears wackadoo, eccentric or nonconformist, so be it. That’s on us. Of course, every Aquarian has an entire natal chart so I am generalising, but Aquarius in and of itself believes in itself.

I love that Aquarian self-possession, the surety of beliefs and the firmness of their convictions. The channelled inspiration, clear vision and quick, forward thinking. Aquarius can absolutely hold its own. This comes from having a really strong sense of self. Again, it’s not selfish. It’s a commitment originating from the intention to improve and evolve. To think ahead and beyond what we know now. For this to happen, sometimes you have to stand alone.

You need a mind that won’t waver.

A few years ago I had a series on Instagram called ‘Women with Sun Signs in…’ where I profiled women in the public eye in the zodiac sign of the season. All the women were legends but to me the Aquarians were especially inspiring. In their chosen fields they all shared the strongest connection and commitment to humanity but each of them also revealed an unwavering belief in themselves and their vision.

For writer Virginia Woolf ~ pioneer of the personal is always political ~ if she couldn’t be herself, she was nobody. And if she couldn’t tell the truth about herself, she wouldn’t tell it about anybody. Actor, filmmaker and anti-AI activist, Justine Bateman said that on the day she dies she hopes she’s the most confident a human can be. ‘That’s the goal…I’m just going to decide that I’m great and maybe all of these other people are crazy. That feels very rebellious.’

For these women, to uphold their ideas and ideals is a form of personal rebellion. They have to believe in themselves ~ you can’t wobble when you’re standing on your soapbox and educating and empowering everyone.

You don’t need an Aquarian Sun to decide who you are or to discover your vision. We all have an inbuilt Aquarius inhabiting a vital part of our makeup. I have no planets in Aquarius but both of its rulers (Uranus and Saturn) feature strongly in my chart and Aquarius rules my 2nd house of resources and self-worth. I get resourced and feel a whole lot better about myself and my contribution when I allow my originality to shine through and let it take up space.

Where is your big, bright Aquarian lightsource and how do you get out of your way to receive your inspiration? Beth Ditto has a sensitive Pisces Sun and gets all my gold stars for sharing her empowering Aquarian Mercury (perceptions) and Venus (values) vision:

‘Take your inspiration and let it lead you out into the world, into your big amazing genius life. Voices in your head, echoes of people trying to hold you down ~ tell them to fuck off. You’re perfect the way you are. You don’t need to change anything but the world, so get to it.’

Your Inspired Initiation

We are coming out of passivity, people. Saturn has released its rings around Pisces, where since March 2023 its protective arms encircled our imagination, intuition, creativity and spirituality, encouraging us to make magic with something we could barely see. We worked up quite a dream.

On 14 February, Saturn successfully rebirthed into Aries at 0º of the zodiac, the place of absolute beginnings where we pass from one period of life to the next. That dream you conjured, the vision you know you need to act on ~ now’s where you make it happen.

Fantastic visions can’t live on their own, they need activation. Propel yours by applying Aries’ independence, single-mindedness and forward orientation.

Stoke your flame by paying attention. Aries is the firestarter and literally rules your head. For the next 2½ years Saturn insists you respond to whatever is staring you in the face. It won’t let you take your eyes off it ~ those planetary rings will draw you back again and again. Aries will give you the push to go for it. When we don’t, Saturn tends to raise the stakes and the price of ignoring gets higher and higher…

Honestly, I’m not a Saturn doom and gloomer. Saturn saves us. It stops us from going too far in the wrong direction with full-tilt confidence and gently (sometimes sternly, depending on our sensitivity) guides us where we need to be.

We’re at the starting point of anything and everything.

But it’s not the most traditional introduction…

Saturn’s emergence into Aries begins with a dip into Neptune’s realm, so from the get go at 0º Aries, straight up, elder energy (Saturn) meets the ethereal, surreal wise mystic (Neptune) in a most unlikely fiery, coming out moment.

On 20 February they will come together exactly. While Saturn and Neptune meet up every 36 years or so, never before (or at least not in recorded history) have they met at this Aries starting point. Never before has there been such uncertainty about how this might manifest. As much as astrologers will guess, all we really know is that this meeting marks a monumental timestamp in history, signifying the beginning and ending of eras. We’re already witnessing power structures and regimes that are rigid, or noncompliant, falling apart and I’m sure we’ll continue to see a dissolution of their old, crumbling energy, making way for more compassionate futures and fresh ideas.

What kind of fresh era will you create?

What can you hope for? How can you personally hold this energy, where you attempt to combine a firm sense of reality with the illusory?

If you’ve let your dreams dull recently or a chaos mentality has caught you off course, here’s where we double down on getting back on track. First we don’t let limiting attitudes or lack hold us back. We say, ‘Fear, be gone!’ and start believing it.

But we don’t get lost in wishful thinking because we devote actual time to making our intentions happen. We create a daily practice where we get real by following through and being accountable. We also start a practice by practising. We acknowledge where our fire comes from ~ inside or outside? Do you need external stimulation or are you good at generating your own steam? Do you need an accountability buddy to check in with or a mentor to work with you?

Every possibility is okay. Beginnings are always uncertain and this one requires a huge leap of faith. In yourself.

Dare yourself to do things differently and consistently. Be a little more adventurous and receptive. Not by forcing because nothing great comes from force. Just by being open. Open to how you can make a difference in your life.

Your Aquarius New Moon & Partial Solar Eclipse

Can you see yourself? This intense, powerful and provocative, major Moon is offering you an open invitation to be yourself, completely, uniquely and originally.

Its eclipsing nature reveals everything. We are metabolising so much information but what you discover about yourself won’t escape you. To go forward and embrace this year with the enthusiasm and vigour it deserves, we really have to actively zoom in to see what we’re about and what we can let go of ~ what we’re honestly taking on so we can continue on. With almost all of Aquarius behind this twinning of the Sun (our identity) and Moon (our emotionality) and Uranus spurring us on, this could feel super stimulating, high-octane and way too revelatory. But don’t you need a new view, a little switching on and blowing your mind to see what we see too? Your brilliance and your blind spots?

Not in a judgy or critical way. An entire arc of loving and supportive planets through Aquarius, Pisces and Aries is here to help us shift our gaze upwards and tilt our axis just enough to inspire us to keep looking and learning. Forgiving ourselves for any perceived imperfections blocking us from visioning our way ahead.

Whatever you discover, be kind to your mind and gentle with what you see. Vital information is revealing itself.

This solar eclipse very cleverly orients our future gaze for later in the year when the nodal needle shifts into Aquarius and Leo and healthy individualism and our full creative expression will be at the forefront of our minds and felt deep within our hearts.

How you celebrate your difference and share your unique code matters so much more than you think. We need new perspectives, fresh ideas and independent minds. But more than ever we need to come together and vibrate positively off each other, stimulating our realities with enlivened and reinvigorated, committed energy.

Will you take up this New Moon’s invitation to properly see and be yourself and let it lead you out into your ‘big amazing genius life’?

We really can’t continue without your input.

Love,

Kristin xxx

PS: This New Moon is at its newest on 17 February at 11.01pm AEDT, 4.01am PT and 12.01am GMT.

For a New Moon to be ‘new’ the Sun and Moon must come together in perfect alignment. A partial Solar Eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth but the line-up isn’t exact ~ a sliver of Sun will be visible. As eclipses go, this one is still mega, super revealing and very potent.

PPS: We often feel an eclipse build up at least a week beforehand and then feel the emotional effects for a week after. If Aquarius, Leo, Taurus or Scorpio are strong in your chart, you might be processing this one for a while…
