Shift Your Perspective

Hello,

After a shaky start, Sagittarius season is finding its feet. All in our heads with no place to go or direct our mental energy makes us feel very top heavy and up in the clouds. Sagittarius needs to believe it can take its knowledge somewhere, so it can make meaning of its experience…and explore some more. It needs to feel it has agency, propulsion, blood firing its loins. We too need to feel we can move forward and find the rightful place for our knowledge, so we can increase our understanding…and grow some more.

My mind has been whirring so intensely these past few weeks it’s taken me a minute to find my way to this place, to you. After my Love Triangle workshop (thank you so much to everyone who attended♥️), my spoken and written word count was all used up. Thoughts needed time and space to uncover and discover and make meaning of my contributing role in this universe. I discovered I want more IRL sharing of astrology. An Astrology Salon? Watch this space. Mercury retrograde will do that. I hope yours was helpful and meaningful for you.

On Saturday just passed, after three weeks of massive personal and collective inner reflection, Mercury reoriented and is now moving forward, in time for our Gemini Full Moon. Perfect cosmic timing as Mercury rules this Full Moon. The real kicker though ~ what really excites me ~ is that Saturn turned around a day earlier and in less than a week Neptune will be looking ahead too, elevating us to new heights.

The combination of Mercury, Saturn and Neptune moving forward is what gives this Sagittarius season its legs.

Adjust Your Thinking

This is such a contemplative time of year, when we reflect on what was and could have been, surveying ourselves, our potential, our goals and future paths. What worked, what didn’t? What would we do differently? How can we move forward? Where do we even begin?

This year ~ well, the astrological year ~ began with so much promise. With all the big player planets set for the starting point (or close to it) of brand-new signs, promise abounded.

We got a very good impression of what new potential looks like. We saw it and felt it for ourselves.

Ideas were hatched, plans made. We were making moves, getting things off the ground. Positivity was in the air. We did the things we thought we were afraid of with innocence and excitement. Zero degrees of any astrological sign holds that energy.

But like all major change experiences, rather than fastforwarding into the future, many of us needed to shift sideways first ~ to clear up stuff we didn’t know needed clearing. To refine our practices, get to the bottom of our behaviours, and get ourselves properly in order to better hold the potentiality of what’s ahead. Some of us needing to shed a little of our lives, some of us a lot. No short cuts or fast tracking or premature anything possible.

You see the planets pulled back. They turned retrograde and (mostly) returned to the final degrees of their previous signs, slowing us down but for good reason. There was still more work to do.

We forget that progressive change isn’t a magic leap from A to B. It requires lots of microsteps along the way ~ developmental and emotional adjustments too.

We might greet opportunity with the best of intentions but are we really ready to transform? Or is it the idea of something new and different that we like, and not necessarily the execution and process that comes with it? Perhaps it’s more comfortable to stay with what we know.

A Very Sensitive Slide

Although the second half of this year might have felt like a grinding, backwards slide at times, not to mention very humbling, I see our loss of momentum as an opportunity to catch up and reorient. A reinvigoration rather than a regression.

Saturn and Neptune’s return to Pisces’ embryonic waters in July after their brief and bold initiation into Aries might have felt like an exhaustive contraction back into the rebirth canal, but maybe it was the fourth trimester we needed. Allowing us more time to complete our dream development for this new cycle and create a protective space to reimagine and revise our plans. Not to mention top up our personal and collective capacity for a more compassionate way forward.

As both planets move ahead (Saturn on 28 November, Neptune 10 December), our faith in the initiatory process is renewed. The rebirth canal widens and no longer feeling so stretched, awareness arrives.

We have a stronger sense of where we’re going and are willing to brave the uncertain and unknown.

Mercury has been swimming direct since 29 November but is still in Scorpio’s emotional waters and won’t rise to Sag’s desired heights until 12 December. While our thoughts remain deep, we can still plumb our depths, not afraid to insist on integrity and commit to honest, heartfelt exchanges.

Our emotions swell even more as Sagitarrius’ generous ruler, Jupiter, retraces its movement through Cancer from mid-November to early March next year. We’re expanding our understanding of our emotional requirements, learning through felt experience what we’re able to hold and can (and cannot) cope with. We’ll find wisdom when we listen to our gut responses and discover how much we have in our tank to care for others and, ultimately, ourselves.

Sensitive from a nervous system point of view is Uranus’ shift from Gemini back to the familiarity of Taurus. For anyone who felt the overstimulation of TMI in Gemini from July to early November, the return to the safety of what you know might feel reassuring but be assured, Uranus will liberate anything Taurean that’s too safe for you. Allowing yourself to ground this intelligence while remaining flexible in the late Taurus part of your chart is integral for your bright future Gemini expression, which Uranus will light up again in late April 2026.

Wherever you’re blocked, Uranus will free you up, setting you up for your version of a thought revolution.

The Gemini Full Moon is part of this set up and all of these planets are playing into our Full Moon story. This Sagittarius season asks us to expand our consciousness so we can make moves to inhabit a larger vision for ourselves. How is that vision seducing you? And where would you like an uprising in your life? Hold out hope for it.

Your Gemini Full Moon

This airy, mutable Moon feels so full. Peaking at 13º of the Gemini part of your chart, it’s a flip between highly active thought states and the strongest desire to search for raw space, where we can spill and empty our brains out and find free states of mind. Where we can think for ourselves, away from influence, becoming the influencer of our own thoughts. It’s a head trip.

I listened to wise woman Patti Smith this morning. She spoke of the importance of having a room of one’s own (à la Virginia Woolf) to support our self-expression. She suggested it’s also good to have a room of one’s own in the mind so we can remain in touch with our inner world, our creative aspect, and nurture our imagination away from distraction. She so eloquently explained, this is our space, it won’t dissipate, always connected to our soul and heart and mind. Does she know she’s describing this Full Moon exactly?

This is the raw space we want to carve out for ourselves. Awe and wonder exist there. Childlike innocence and their million questions live there too.

When my son was a baby I saw a tarot reader. She told some truth about him: ‘He’s going to talk so much you’ll wish he never learnt to speak.’ She then added, ‘But it’s very cool’. Zac did talk so much and it was very cool, but the two of us also relished our quiet time.

We all need time for information to land in our bodies, grounding and processing and making sense for ourselves. Exercising our minds, like a child, asking our own million questions. Enquiring always and seeking our own altered states, making our kind of meaning.

That’s what’s so interesting and reassuring about this Full Moon. It isn’t an intellectual exercise, it’s an emotional experience, asking us to notice how it feels when we’re completely absorbed, present and consciously engaged. And then the sensation of compulsively taking in information that’s just meh, mental filler. Overloading on downloading.

We want to recognise how it feels when we’re not listening to ourselves, or each other, and the heights we can reach when the totality of our visions come together.

This is our Full Moon to dip into soul and come up for air, translating the information we ingest with curiosity and discernment. It might be everyday talk or our wisest truth. What matters is how we receive our understanding and the grace we give each other when we share it.

Love,

Kristin xxx

PS: This Full Moon at 13º Gemini will be at its fullest at 10.14am AEDT on 5 December and 3.14pm Pacific Time and 11.14pm GMT on 4 December.

Full Moons are always peak experiences ~ this one offering a welcome mental release you might really need. If you feel heightened, your breath, voice and hands are your friends. Write, or talk it out with people you really connect with. If that’s not possible, your voicenotes will listen intently. Share your thoughts, generously.

And be kind to your mind, always.
