Your Taurus New Moon
Hello,
It’s time for a new set of creative possibilities. A new kind of nourishment. We’re ripe and ready to feed on life, take greater mouthfuls and vastly expand our appetites. Denial is so old season.
Taurus season on the other hand is quite delicious and I’m more than ready to taste flavours I’ve refused. Flavours I’ve resisted. Taurus generally has some hesitancy when faced with new experiences ~ it’s very particular about what it likes and loves and if it had its way it would consume the same thing forever. But push has come to shove.
Electrifying, liberating Uranus has almost finally completed its work in Taurus. Since 2018 this changemaking energy has been seismically altering Taurus’ foundations. Wherever Taurus lives in your birth chart, you’ve been shifted and shaken and well woken up. You can safely consider yourself almost fully liberated.
We have just a couple of months to go before Uranus wraps up in Taurus and begins its lightning rod effect in Gemini. For this final New Moon in Taurus with Uranus in its orbit, the bull, usually fixated on its own constancy and determination, has been thoroughly disrupted and stimulated and is grabbing us by our horns, saying ‘Wake up and taste the roses’.
‘Don’t just smell them, devour them!’
Embody Your Desires
This New Moon doesn’t want you to waste another second shutting off what you want, living with lack and accepting the scraps. You only recently lived your Venus Retrograde love story. Now experience Venus going forward.
Born fully formed, Venus knows herself. Every bit of what she likes and dislikes. What makes her feel good. What’s non-negotiable. What is essential to make her life fruitful.
What would completely satisfy you and satiate your appetite?
Venus is the planetary ruler of both Taurus and Libra. In earth-based Taurus, Venus is received via the body. We’re talking the tangible, the pleasure principle, the sensual. The embodiment of every instinct. How we feel our way into reality, create a sense of safety, and understand what is both possible and comfortable for us.
What would improve your personal comfort level by a whole lot more? And how will you go about attaining it for yourself?
Untie Your Blocks
Of course there’s a twist.
All week we’ve been building up to quite the crescendo with a potent power brew between Mars and Pluto. This activation has been happening for some time ~ we first felt them face off in November 2024 and then earlier this year in January. But this time Mars and Pluto are both in exact opposition and directly squaring the Taurus Sun and Moon (aka a T-square), provoking and challenging this New Moon’s sense of steadiness. Although set to release just hours before the exact New Moon and promising to be emotionally cathartic and healing, this stress effect will be shaking our sense of stability and surety, especially in the lead up.
Are you feeling it? Most likely you’ve been resisting it. That’s okay. Those comfort levels we’re seeking just mightn’t be very comfortable right now. The push~pull effect of Mars and Pluto can be deeply destabilising and also quite activating.
On one hand we have Mars in Leo, boldly wanting to assert itself, ready to take risks and reveal itself, celebrate itself. And on the other hand we have Pluto in Aquarius, taking us down into our muck ~ our suppressed, shadowy bits ~ questioning our capabilities and confronting us with vulnerable truths around our capacity to innovate, individuate, share our gifts and find belonging.
Basically, bringing up our biggest blocks.
This makes our Mars feel verrry vulnerable and we could react by lashing out or by hiding under a rock and burying our potential. Or we can use Pluto’s penetrating insights to truly see what needs to be seen. That we’re power struggling with ourselves, digging our heels in and refusing to budge on our buried treasure ~ our talents and strengths ~ keeping them locked up, committing them to the underground and preventing them from being seen.
Pluto brings things up and out. Even if we’re forced to drag our blocks and fears to the surface, we have the opportunity to see them, acknowledge them and integrate them. To actually use our gifts as they were intended.
I mean really, what is there to fear? That we transform? We expand and grow? Leo and Aquarius are fixed energies and neither wants to back down because they both want to lead. How about we take the lead and take the initiative to uncover that buried treasure and utilise it?
Honestly, the scariest thing you have to face could actually be the most liberating thing you can do for yourself. By untying your blocks and loosening up you might grow a little. Embrace your juicy curves. Our growth plates are expanding. Maybe, just maybe, we all need to accept reality and go up a size.
Give Yourself a Mouthful
Having devoured our fears maybe this New Moon will give us the courage to bite off more than we can chew. More than we believe we deserve.
Black Moon Lilith will empower you to receive what you need. This dark feminine presence is sitting in Scorpio directly opposite the Taurus Sun and Moon, feeding them encouragement with her wild serpentine energy. If you read my earlier love letter on Loving Your Lilith, you know she’s nothing to be afraid of. Lilith is our ally, reuniting us with our most vulnerable parts, aspects we’ve abandoned and rejected. Shut off for safety.
Lilith holds our truth and reflects our sacred rage, and in Scorpio that will be found anywhere you’ve been shamed or guilt-tripped or felt the need to subjugate your power. Let her unlock and release you from that repression and she’ll honour you with more than morsels. You’ll get a mouthful of what is rightfully yours.
But you can be certain Lilith will tell you exactly what’s what if you deny yourself and keep living in lack. Like Taurus, you are resource rich. Lilith implores you to take what’s out there and easily in reach ~ just like the apple she seductively encouraged Eve to grasp for. Seize your healthy pleasure and let it flourish and grow into your tree of life, sustaining you for as long as you need it.
I’m positive you won’t regret this.
Your Changing Nature
As you settle into your new way of being, you’ll want to find comfort and a feeling of ease. Possessing the confidence to be who you are without judgement from yourself or anyone else.
Let this Taurus New Moon ground you and support you to make the necessary adjustments and changes you need to expand into your altered shape. Feel received by earthly presences by wrapping yourself around a tree, a rock or a real life person. Allow their weight to apply pressure where you need it, encircling you and holding you, softening your hard edges. If you are the person you’ll turn to, tightly enfold yourself with your arms. Be your own loving container, promising warmth and confirmation you’re safe and present, stroking the sides of your neck, which Taurus lovingly looks after and your vagus nerve is situated. This will be very reassuring for your nervous system.
The Taurus New Moon will be exact at 5.31am AEST on 28 April, and 2.31pm Pacific Time and 8.31pm GMT on 27 April. New Moon energy is felt for around three days so don’t stress if you’re slow to read this. The New Moon energy will still be with you.
Mars, Pluto and Lilith will be active for a couple of weeks to come. They’ll be rising in you in their own ways. They rose inside me last night in a dream, which I’ll leave you with.
If you find snakes unsettling, keep stroking that vagus nerve…
I was standing on my childhood street, Cerberus St. (‘Cerberus’ incidentally is the three-headed dog that guards the gates of hell, the underworld, where Pluto resides and Hades rules. In my birth chart, Pluto is conjunct my natal Sun, but I knew none of this when I lived on Cerberus St.)
Along the street slithered a white snake. It was like a python but much longer and covered the entire length of road. It was white but it didn’t look pure and innocent, and by the time it reached where I stood I noticed it had arms and hands. It reared up on its hands, revealing a skinny chest and its hideous face and flicking its forked tongue. But even though it was venomous and deliberately tried to frighten me, I wasn’t scared. I knew it couldn’t hurt me. It was all effect and wouldn’t touch me.
Cate Blanchett (with her Taurus Sun and Ascendant) was nearby wearing a beautiful flowing dress and riding a BMX bike. She did a wheelie, mimicking the snake. I was impressed by Cate and she was impressed by the snake.
I think the moral of the story is that we have nothing to fear from the snake or what might feel uncomfortable or difficult (doing a wheelie in public for me?) right now. The scariest thing might be confronting but can be, in fact, quite laughable and not intending to harm you at all.
Enjoy your Taurus New Moon and these strange words of encouragement!
Love,
Kristin xxx
